Abstract:

This paper is concerned with mathematical modeling of heat and mass transfer during doping of pre-molds for fabrication of active quartz light guides by MCVD technology. The process of dopant precipitation under the action of thermophoretic forces is investigated taking into account the external aerodynamics.
