        <p>A positive column of a direct current discharge in monoatomic gas is considered and expressions are obtained that relate the external parameters of the column (varying radius of the discharge channel, gas pressure and discharge current) to the “internal” characteristics (concentration of charged particles, electron temperature, and longitudinal electric field strength).</p>
