      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>The problem of development of a high power coherent light radiation source for optical holography based on single frequency argon laser has been reviewed.</p>
        <p>The conditions for obtaining single-frequency generation for a homogeneously broadened spectral line in the gas-discharge lasers with long resonators were determined. The possibility of realization of the single-frequency argon laser emitting in the blue-green range of the spectrum was demonstrated.</p>
