      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>The results of numerical simulation of a dambreak flow in the presence of a rectangular obstacle are presented. It is shown that computations without turbulence modeling overestimate the intensity of the wave formation. The k-e turbulence model yields higher turbulent viscosity, than SST model, and provides reasonable agreement with experimental data.</p>
