Abstract:

Three kinds of armor steel were tested under uniaxial strain conditions within impact velocity range from 200 to 500 m/s. It is shown that maximum of spall strength is realized when velocity variation is equal to velocity defect on the compression pulse plateau which corresponds to the so-called Kolmogorovs universal statistical equilibrium regime in turbulence theory.
