        <p>This paper presents the results of investigations performed by the researchers of the department of Physical electronics in the laboratory headed by Prof. F. Wagner and supported by the ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation on the basis of MEGA-Grant. Methods for the improvement of helical electron beam quality and for enhancement of gyrotron efficiency, new gyrotron electron beam diagnostics are discussed.</p>
