        <p>A theoretical study of physical properties of microscopic metallic clusters embedded in the noble gas matrix is presented. Mechanisms leading to the resonance line shift in embedded clusters are studied. The photoabsorption spectra of embedded sodium clusters of different size are calculated.</p>
